Inasawa Research Group studied silicon micro particles and their light emission (PL) properties. It was found that a delay of the oxygen transportation by the narrow trenches was a cause to lead a slow manufacturing process. In addition, they found that on the improvement of the PL stability, the “width” of particles can form a deep trenches narrowly. In the future, semiconductors can be made from this kind of silicon particles and they may useful for the production of lithium ion battery and the chemical sensor.
